Bio | Mark Rowlands
My name is Mark Rowlands. I was born in Newport, Wales. I did my undergraduate degree at Manchester University, followed by a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Oxford University. I've worked in the UK, Ireland, continental Europe and and the US - I'm currently Professor and Chair of Philosophy at the University of Miami. I've written around twenty books, (quite a few of which are about animals, the environment and the human predicament, including a bestseller or two). Probably my most well-known book is The Philosopher and the Wolf, a philosophically-oriented memoir of the decade or so I was fortunate enough to spend living and traveling with a wolf-dog named Brenin.
